Juchao ZHAO

China Age 22

Juchao Zhao was admitted to the Middle School attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2010, and studied with Professor Lei Fang, Qinglin Zhu and Jiamin Yuan. He graduated in 2019, and is now studying in the Juilliard School with Professor Joal Smirnoff and Hyo Kang for a Bachelor of Arts. He is anticipated to graduate in May 2023.

In 2017, he performed with the Chinese Youth Symphony Orchestra as the second violinist at Carnegie Hall, and entered the final round in the first Mintz International Violin Competition the same year. In 2018, he participated in the 8th Washington Johnson International Youth String Competition and won the fourth place. In the same year, he won the "Yincai Program" scholarship of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He also performed in Morningside Music Festival in summer of 2016.

In 2020/2021, at the invitation of Maestro Tan Dun, he toured in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Lanzhou and other places as the concertmaster.

In 2023, Juchao Zhao was admitted to Juilliard for M.M. program with the highest scholarship, at the same time, Yale University offered admission offer with full scholarship plus living allowance. He is currently studying at the Juilliard School.
