Leonid ZHELEZNY
Russia Age 29
Born in 1994 in Moscow. He began playing the violin at the age of five years. In 2001 Leonid enrolled in the Gnesin Music School, class of Elena Malkina. Since 2012 studies at Moscow state Conservatory. (Class of Professor Alexander Vinnitsky).
Laureate of the Vladimir Spivakov Competition (Ufa, 2016, 3rd prize), International Music Competition Harbin (3rd prize), the All-Russian Music Competition (Moscow, 2018, 2nd prize) and others. Winner of the Grand Prix of the International Violin Competition in Astana (2017). Special award recipient of the Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition (Krasnoyarsk, 2018), the International Tchaikovsky Competition (2019), the Fritz Kreisler International Violin Competition (Vienna, 2022).
Leonid’s repertoire includes works by composers from the Baroque to works of the 21st century. He took part in the master classes of the great teachers. Leonid is a laureate of international competitions, and participated in many music festivals in Europe.
