Xie was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music in 2012 with the highest grade of his major and studied with Prof. Lin Zhaoyang. In 2014, he won two special awards, "Most Talented" and "Best Modern Piece" at the Lipizer International Violin Competition in Italy. In the same year, he won the fifth prize at the CCTV Piano and Violin Competition, and was selected into the Top Innovative Talents (BOB) training program of the Central Conservatory of Music supported by the Ministry of Culture, and received national special funding support.

At the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon, he studied for a master's degree in violin with the French quartet violinist Marc Danel, and principal of the Opera de Lyon, Laurence Ketel (2016-2018), as well as a Master's degree in chamber music (2018).

In 2017, he studied with educators Marianne Piketty and Manuel Solans, along with Jennifer Gilbert, principal of the Orchestre National de Lyon; in the same year, he won first prize in the 5th Marie Cantagrill International Violon Competition. In 2019, he won the 4th prize in the Lipizer International Violin Competition in Italy, and the award for “Best Performance of the Paganini Capriccio” and “best performance of the 19th Century Concerto”; in November, he won the third prize at the Rubenstein International Chamber Music Competition with Arlequin Quartet.

In June 2021, he was invited to the master class of Pavel Vernikov and Gerhard Shulz at the Kronberg Academy in Germany; and in August, he was invited to the Beethoven Festival in Bonn with the Arlequin Quartet.

In 2023, he performed with the Hehe Chamber Orchestra across China. He was a competitor of the 2023 Paganini International Violin Competition.
